          Noong ika-5 ng Marso, 1901, itinatag ang American Circulating Library sa Manila. Dito nagsimula ang kasalukuyang National Library of the Philippines.

          Ang mga pinuno ng Communist Party of the Philippines kabilang sina Jose Maria Sison (Chairman ng CPP), Bernabe Buscayno (pangkalahatang pinuno ng NPA), Ruben Alegre (pinuno ng Sparrow Unit) at Alex Buendo (pinuno ng Metro Manila Armed Citizen’s Partisan Group) ay pinalaya mula sa kanilang pagkakapiit sa Fort Bonifacio noong Marso 5, 1986.

Battle of the Champs

          Ito ang tawag ng Life magazine sa unang labanan sa ring ng mga heavyweight boxers na si Muhammad Ali at Joe Frazier sa Madison Square Garden sa New York, noong Marso 8, 1971. Sa paghaharap na ito, si Frazier ang champion at si Ali ang challenger. Pareho silang walang talo. Nagwagi si Frazier ng unanimous decision makalipas ang 15 rounds. Namaga ang panga ni Ali at ito ang kauna-unahan niyang pagkatalo sa kaniyang boxing career. Sa pangalawang paglalaban ni Ali at Frazier noong January 28, 1974, si Ali naman ang nagwagi ng unanimous decision. Sa ikatlong laban na ginanap sa Araneta Coliseum noong October 1, 1975, na binansagang “Thrilla in Manila,” nanalong muli si Ali sa pamamagitan ng technical knockout on the 14th round.

                Liv Ullmann is a Norwegian actress born in Tokyo, Japan, and raised in Canada and Trondheim, Norway. Ullmann started out as a stage actress and became known for her role as Nora in the Heinrik Ibsen’s play A Doll’s House.  In 1973, she appeared in the Swedish television drama, Scenes From a Marriage, which was also made into a film. In 1977, Ullmann became a part of the war epic A Bridge Too Far, a film loaded with big Hollywood stars including Dirk Bogarde, James Caan, Michael Caine, Sean Connery, Edward Fox, Elliot Gould, Anthony Hopkins, Gene Hackman, Hardy Krüger, Laurence Olivier, Robert Redford and Maximilian Schell. She portrayed the role of Kate ter Horst (1906-1992), the Dutch heroine known as the “Angel of Arnhem.”
