1521 – Ferdinand Magellan (Fernando de Magallanes) reached the shore of the island of Samar.
1946 – Benigno Ramos, founder of the pro-Japanese anti-American Sakdal Movement, was indicted for treason.
1960 – The Araneta Coliseum, considered the biggest in Asia during its time, was inaugurated. Its inaugural presentation was the world boxing championship fight in the junior lightweight division between Harold Gomes and Gabriel “Flasj” Elorde. Elorde won the title by knockout.
1992 – Sarangani province was created by virtue of Republic Act No. 7882.

          Hilary Duff is an American actress, recording artist and entrepreneur, first rose to stardom as the lead character in the Disney Channel television series “Lizzie McGuire,” which was later made into a big screen film, The Lizzie McGuire Movie.          
            In 2004, she starred in the film Cheaper by the Dozen and A Cinderella Story, and released her self-titled studio debut album, Hilary Duff, which became a certified triple platinum. She also started her own clothing line “Stuff by Hillary Duff” in March that year. The business venture eventually expanded to include furnitures, perfumes and jewelries, but she stopped in 2008.
