1571 – Spanish troops led by Miguel Lopez de Legaspi occupied Manila.
1583 – First great fire engulfed Manila.
1861 – Casa Moneda de Manila, the first minting plant in the Philippines, was established. It produced gold coins in three denominations: 4 pesos (80 reales), 2 pesos (40 reales), and 1 peso (20 reales). The word “FILIPINAS” was first inscribed in these coins.
1927 – Coca-Cola was officially introduced in the Philippines as a commodity although in was first imported in the early 1920s.

Ang “Bim, Bam, Bum” ni Pablo S. Gomez
          Ang “Bim, Bam, Bum” ay nobelang komiks na isinulat ni Pablo S. Gomez at iginuhit ni Alfredo Alcala para sa Tagalog Klasiks (1955). Isinapelikula ito ng Sampaguita Pictures sa ilalim ng direksiyon ni Olive la Torre. Itinampok sa pelikula sina Gloria Romero, Ramon Revilla, Chichay, Tolindoy at Rod Navarro.

Larawang Tribiya
          Sina Robin Padilla at Angelika dela Cruz ang mga pangunahing bituin sa Hari ng Selda (2002), ang unang pelikulang kanilang pinagsamahan. Ang pelikula ayon kay Padilla ay tila larawan ng tunay niyang buhay dahil 70 hanggang 80 porsyento nito ay batay sa kaniyang mga naging karanasan sa bilangguan. Si Padilla ay nakulong ng tatlong taon, at sa mga panahong ito siya lumipat ng pananampalataya sa relihiyong Islam.
          Si Padilla ay kasama ni Deo Fajardo Jr, ang mentor niya at discoverer at director ng pelikula, sa pagsulat ng script ng Hari ng Selda. Marami sa eksena ng pelikula ay kinunan mismo sa loob ng bilangguan sa Muntinglupa.
          Para naman kay Angelika, ito ang kauna-unahang pelikula kung saan mayroon siyang pakikipaghalikan sa kaniyang katambal.
