The birth name of NBA basketball player Kareem
Abdul-Jabbar is Ferdinand Lewis Alcindor Jr. He played for the Milwaukee Bucks
(1969-1975) and Los Angeles Lakers (1975-1989), and, on record, as of this
writing (March 2012), he is NBA’s “All-Time Leading Scorer” (38,387 points). He
was the “Rookie of the Year” on his first season with the NBA. In his
professional career, he has garnered six regular season MVP and two finals MVP
awards. Jabbar is known for his trademark “skyhook” shot.
