Satirical caricature on high prices of commodities
during Pres. Cory Aquino’s regime,
featured on the editorial page of the
Philippine Daily Inquirer (November 9, 1987).

Picture Trivia
When Marlon Brando (1924-2004) won the Academy Best Actor Award for the film Godfather in 1972, he asked Sacheen Littlefeather, a native Apache Indian, to read his non-acceptance speech. Brando did not accept the award in protest for the bad treatment of American Indians by the American film industry. He is the second actor that refused to accept the Academy Award (the first was George C. Scott). The following year, Brando was again nominated for the Best Actor plum for his performance in the film Last Tango in Paris, but Jack Lemmon won the award for the film Save the Tiger.
