1571 – Battle of Bangkusay between Filipinos led by Rajah Soliman and Spaniards led by Martin de Goiti.
1898 – Spanish troops stationed in Calamba surrendered to Filipino forces led by Paciano Rizal.
1907 – The Centro Escolar de Señoritas (now Centro Escolar University) was founded.

1876 – Jose Palma, poet, writer, revolutionary worker and author of the Philippine National Anthem – Tondo, Manila (d. February 12, 1903)

          Ang Statue of Liberty sa Liberty Island sa New York harbor ay isang rebulto ng babaeng may hawak ng sulo at ng Tabula ansata o tapyas ng batong nagpapaalaala ng batas, at sumasagisag kay Libertas, ang diyosa ng kalayaan ng mga Romano.

         Ang statue ay idinisenyo ng French scuptor na si Frédéric Auguste Bartholdi (1834-1904) at may taas, mula sa ground level hanggang sa pinakadulo ng liyab ng sulong hawak ni Libertas, na 305 talampakan at isang pulgada (humigit-kumulang 93 metro). Ito ay may bigat na 450,000 pounds (204.1 metric tons).
