first professional recording? When he was 17 years old, John Francis Bongiovi
Jr worked as a janitor in the recording studio of his cousin Tony Bongiovi. In
1980, when Meco (real name Domenico Monardo) was recording the Christmas in the Stars: The Star Wars
Christmas Album, Tony recommended John to sing the “R2-D2 We Wish You A
Merry Christmas.” This was his first professional recording, but he used the
name John Bongiovi.
