Ernest Miller Hemingway (1899-1961)
wrote the novel The Dangerous Summer between
the years 1959 to 1960. It was serialized in three issues of Life starting on
the September 5, 1960 issue (SEE attached Life cover page). The novel
was about a bullfighter name Antonio Ordoñez, the son of another matador
Cayetano Ordoñez, which was on Hemingway’s earlier novel The Sun Also Rises (1926).
In
June 1985, Charles Scribner’s Sons published the edited version of the
75,000-word manuscript of The Dangerous
Summer in book form. This was 24 years after the death of Hemingway.

Noly A. Panaligan is my father. He died in 2004 at the age of 77. He remains one of the pillars of Philippine Komiks.
