          Noong Agosto 20, 1882, ang makabayang sanaysay ni Jose Rizal na Amor Patrio (“Pag-ibig sa Bayan”) na isinulat niya sa ilalim ng taguring “Laong Laan” ay inilimbag sa Diarong Tagalog. Ito ay inilimbag sa dalawang wika, ang orihinal na sinulat ni Rizal sa wikang Kastila at ang iniliwat sa Tagalog ni Marcelo H. del Pilar.
