          Noong Agosto 16, 1893, itinatag nina Valeriano Solis, Ramon Fernandez at Andres Frois ang Teatro Zorilla, isang tanghalang naging popular sa pagpapalabas ng mga operas at konsiyerto ng musika.

          Ang Rizal Law, na naglalayong isama sa curricula ng mga paaralan ang paksa tungkol sa buhay at mga gawa ng pambansang bayaning si Dr. Jose Rizal na pinagtibay ng Kongreso ng Pilipinas noong Hunyo 12, 1956, ay ipinatupad noong Agosto 16, 1956.
