          Noong Agosto 18, 1901, ang Mountain Province ay nilikha sa pamamagitan ng Republic Act No. 1876 kung saan ang Bontoc ang ginawang kabisera nito.


Personalities and celebrities born on August 18:
1860 – Agapito Conchu, printer, musician, photographer and one of the 13 mArtyrs of Cavite (d. September 12, 1896).
1926 – Lauro “Larry” Zarate Alcala, editorial cartoonist, illustrator and creator of over 500 cartoon characters including Siopawman, Kalabog en Bosyo, Mang Ambo, Asiong Aksaya, etc., in Daraga, Albay (d. June 24, 2002).

Picture Trivia
          Anne Frank (1929-1945) is considered as the most talk-about diarist of the 20th  century. She is also known as among the Jews massacred by the Nazi Germans during the infamous Holocaust of World War II.
          The contents of her diary were made known after her father, Otto Frank (18889-1980), discovered it in their home in Amsterdam. It was published as a book in Dutch language with the title Het Achterhuis in 1947, and was translated into English in 1952 as Anne Frank: The Diary of a Young Girl. In 1959, It was made into a film, The Diary of Anne Frank. Millie Perkins was the one who portrayed Anne Frank in her debut role as an actress.
