1815 – A Spanish royal decree opened the ports of California, Mexico and Peru to the Manila trade, thus ending the monopoly of the Galleon Trade.
1899 – The Battle of Quingua (now Plaridel, Bulacan) where Filipino revolutionary forces led by General Gregorio H. del Pilar defeated the American forces led by J. Franklin Bell.
1905 – The first chapter of the Knights of Columbus in the Philippines was organized by American soldiers led by Richard Campbell. The first Filipinos to become members of the group were Antonio M. Opisso and Anastacio Quijano.

1889 – Gerardo Chanco, Tagalog writer and translator (d. October 29, 1922).
1985 – Angel Locsin (real name Angelica Colmenares), film and television actress, commercial model, fashion designer, favorite magazine cover girl, in Sta. Maria, Bulacan.
Sina Aga Muhlach (buong pangalan Ariel Aquino Muhlach) at Charlene Gonzales (buong pangalan Charlene Mae Gonzales Bonnin) ay nagpakasal noong May 24, 2001. At noong 2002, nagsilang si Charlene ng kambal, sina Andres at Atasha Bonnin Muhlach.
