          The TV series The X-Files, which starred David Duchovny (as FBI agent Fox Mulder) and Gillian Anderson (as FBI agent Dana Scully), premiered on U.S. television on September 10, 1993 and ended on May 19, 2002, spanning nine seasons and 202 episodes.
          In the last two seasons, Duchovny only appeared intermittently, and Robert Patrick (as FBI agent John Doggett) became the lead actor.
