Tinatayang 95 porsyento ng mga preschoolers sa America ay nakapanood na ng Sesame Street bago pa man sila umabot ng tatlong taong gulang. Halos 25 porsyento ng mamamayan ng America ang nakapanood na ng programang ito. Sa ika-40 anibersaryo ng children’s show noong Nobyembre 10, 2009, ito ay napanood sa mahigit 140 bansa kabilang na ang Pilipinas.
