1943 – The Kabataang Kalibapi was organized. It was the youth arm of the Kapisanan sa Paglilingkod sa Bagong Pilipinas (KALIBAPI), the political organization which replaced all existing political parties during the Japanese Occupation.

Sa animated series na The Simpsons na nilikha ni Matt Groening, alam niyo ba na ang pangalan ng rebellious na anak na si Bart ay mula sa anagram ng salitang “brat” (katumbas marahil ng salitang Pilipino na “pasaway”)? Ang mga character sa The Simpsons ay hinalaw ni Groening sa sariling niyang pamilya, at si Bart ay inihalintulad niya sa kaniyang nakatatandang kapatid na si Mark, lalo na sa pag-uugali. Binuo niya ang character batay sa isang extreme version ng “typically misbehaving child.”
Ang nagboses kay Bart ay isang babae, si Nancy Cartwright, na nagboses din sa iba pang mga batang lalaking character sa The Simpsons, sina Nelson Muntz, Ralph Wiggum, Todd Flanders at Kearney. Sa unang season ng animated series, inilihim ng Fox Network ang bagay na ito sa mga manunood.
Ang catchpraise ni Bart na “eat my shorts” ay hindi kasama sa scripts kundi isang ad-lib na idinagdag lamang ni Cartwright.
