Events that happened on May 28:
1763 – Diego Silang, the leader of the Ilocos rebellion against Spain, was assassinated by Miguel Vicos in Ilocos Sur on orders of the friars.
1898 – General Emilio Aguinaldo was victorious against the Spanish forces in Alapan, Imus, Cavite. The Philippine flag sewn in Hongkong by Marcela Marino de Agoncillo with the help of her daughter Lorenza and Delfina Herbosa de Natividad (a niece of Dr. Jose Rizal), and brought home by Aguinaldo, was first displayed in battle and hoisted in victory.
1977 – Pres. Marcos issued Presidential Decree No. 1143, instituting the technical descriptions of the Philippine Archipelago making the Philippine Islands into two parcels with Binondo Church as the tie point.

1863 – Justo Lukban, physician, delegate to the Malolos Congress and Mayor of Manila (d. September 2, 1927).
1870 – Maximino Hizon, revolutionary general – in Mexico, Pampanga (d. September 1, 1901)
1896 – Cesar Bengson, social scientist, jurist, ninth Chief Justice of the Supreme Court (April 28, 1961 – May 29, 1966), and member of the International Court of Justice – in Camiling, Tarlac (d. September 5, 1991).

Magkatulong na binuo ng Australian screenwriter na si Ivan Goff (1910-1999) at American film-television writer na si Benjamin Eisenberg Roberts (1916-1984) ang konsepto ng Charlie’s Angels na agad na nag-number 1 sa rating sa una nitong season (1976-1977). Alam niyo ba kung sino ang boses sa likod ni Charlie? Ito ay ang artistang si John Forsythe (1918-2010).
