Picture Trivia
When you hear the brand Masters and Johnson, the names refer to William Howell Masters (1915-2001) at Virginia Eshelman Johnson, the pioneer researchers in the field of human sexuality and sexual health. They authored together two best-selling books, Human Sexual Response (1966) and Human Sexual Inadequacy (1970).
In 1957, Johnson became Masters’ research assistance. Johnson was divorced from her first husband. Masters, on the other hand, divorced his first wife and married Johnson in 1971. Their marriage lasted until 1992 when they themselves divorced. It the year their research partnership in human sexuality also ended.
