1973 – The Philippine Tourism Authority was created pursuant to Presidential Decree No. 189 as amended by P.D. No. 564.
1998 – Vice-President Joseph “Erap” Estrada was declared the 13th president of the Philippines by virtue of winning by the biggest landslide victory margin in Philippine election history.

          Did you know that  American actor-comedian Bob Hope(real name Leslie Townes Hope, 1903-2003) owns a small percentage of the American professional baseball team, the Cleveland Indians? He bought it in 1946. In 1993, Hope sang “Thanks for the Memory” after the last game of the Indians at the Cleveland Stadium.
          It was in the year 1962, during Bob Hope's pinnacle of success, when he was awarded the United States Congressional Gold Medal for his outstanding contribution in the field of entertainment for the U.S. Armed Forces assigned in different countries.
