          Actress Yvonne Strahovski (real name Yvonne Jacqueline Strzechowski) was born in Australia from Polish emigrant parents. She is known as the “sexy spy” Sarah Walker in the television series Chuck (2007-2012) opposite the lead actor Zachary Levi. Strahovski was given the Teen Choice Award for Choice Action TV Actress – Action (2010) for her portrayal in the said TV series.
          In 2011, Strahovski appeared in the film Killer Elite, with Jason Statham, Clive Owen and Robert De Niro. The following year, she appeared in the film The Guilt Trip starring Seth Rogen and Barbra Streisand.

UNANG LABAS
Ang pahayagang Kastila na La Republica Filipina na sinimulan ni Pedro Paterno ay unang lumabas sa sirkulasyon noong Setyembre 15, 1898.
 
Ang Filipinas Komiks ay unang lumabas sa sirkulasyon noong Setyembre 15, 1957. Ito ay inilimbag ng Alding Publications. Tampoks sa unang labas ang “Sa Ngalan ng Bandila” ni Ruben Yandoc na iginuhit ni Tony de Zuñiga na siya ring nasa unang taklob-pahina ng Filipinas Komiks. Ang iba pang laman ng unang isyu ay ang mga sumusunod: “M.D.” at “Alias 45” ni Yandoc, “Iba’t-ibang Kunsumisyon” ni Mads Castrillo, “Buhay Mangmang” ni Emm Villega Ty, “Edwina” ni J.C. Setyembre 15 sa Kasaysayan ng Pilipinas

          Nonng Setyembre 15, 1898, pinasinayahan ang Kongreso ng Malolos (Malolos Congress) sa simbahan ng Barasoain kung saan idinaos ng mga Filipino ang kauna-unahang constitutional convention. Habang ito naman ay ginagawa, ang mga kasapi ng American Peace Commission ay patalikod na nakipag-usap sa mga kinatawan ng Espanya sa Paris, France, upang isuko ng mga Kastila sa mga Amerikano ang kanilang kapangyarihan sa mga teritoryong nasasakupan nila kabilang na ang Pilipinas. Nang mapagtibay noong Disyembre 10, 1898, tinawag itong Treaty of Paris.

          Si Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos ay dumating sa Washington D.C. noong Setyembre 15, 1982 para sa isang state visit sa paanyaya ng pamahalaan ng America.

Superman). Kreuk’s audition tape was so impressive that she became the first “approved” cast member of Smallville.

          Ang “Senyorita de Kampanilya” (1955-1956) ay kuwentong isinulat ni Clodualdo del Mundo at iginuhit ni Fred  Carillo para sa Pilipino Komiks. Isinapelikula naman ito ng Sampaguita Pictures noong 1956 sa ilalim ng direksyon ni Jose de Villa. Si Rita Gomez ang gumanap sa pangunahing papel na Senyorita de Kampanilya. Ang iba pang mga bituin sa pelikula ay kinabibilangan nina Eddie Arenas, Tito Garcia, Barbara Perez at Ric Rodrigo.

Larawang Tribiya
          Noong Enero 28, 2008, nagsimula ang unang teleserye na pinagbidahan ni Angel Locsin (bilang Lyka Raymundo) sa ABS-CBN na may pamagat na Lobo. Tumagal ang teleseryeng ito tungkol sa mga taong-lobo ng halos limang buwan at kalahati, at nanguna sa evening primetime ratings. Makalipas ang dalawang taon, nagkaroon ng sequel ang teleserye, ang Imortal (2010-2011). Dito ipinagpatuloy ni Locsin ang pagganap bilang Lyka Raymundo Ortega at, sa layon ng kuwento, bilang Lia Ortega, ang anak ni Lyka. Muling pumaimbulog sa ratings ang teleserye, at nagkaroon pa ito ng “cult following” at naging popular sa Internet nang lumabas ang lingguhang webisode nito na Anino’t Panaginip: The Hidden Chapters of Imortal.
          Sa mga nagsasabing kinopya ang mga teleseryeng Lobo at Imortal sa pelikulang Twilight. Isa itong malaking pagkakamali. Halos magkasabay lang ginawa ang Lobo at ang Twilight. Na-nominado pa nga si Locsin sa Emmy Awards sa kaniyang pagganap bilang Lyka. Ang maaari pa ngang sabihin ay posibleng ang mga eksena sa Lobo ang kinopya. Halimbawa ay ang eksenang tumatalon si Lyka at nagiging isang malaking lobo, na napanood na sa Lobo noon pang 2008, ay nakita rin sa mga sequel pa ng Twilight na New Moon (2009) at Eclipse (2010).

1882 – The Carriedo Waterwork was inaugurated, for which water supply for the greater Manila area came from the Marikina River and stored at a reservoir (known as El Deposito) in San Juan (then part of Morong Province).
1898 – General Wesley Merritt arrived in Manila. He is to become the first military American governor of the Philippines.

1521 – The Battle of Mactan, where the native Filipinos led by Lapu-Lapu (1491-1547) drove away the Spanish invaders led by Ferdinand Magellan (1480-1521). Lapu-Lapu’s men speared to death the retreating Magellan off the shore of Mactan Island.
1565 – Miguel Lopez de Legaspi’s expedition from Mexico arrived in Cebu.
1972 – The National Artist Award was created by President Ferdinand Marcos through Presidential Proclamation No. 1001. The award was created to honor Filipino artists in different fields.
1973 – The Kapisanan ng mga Brodkaster sa Pilipinas (KBP), an association of owners and managers of more than 300 radio and television stations in the Philippines, was organized to improve the quality of broadcasting and set a standard for responsible and wholesome programs.
