Richards, who is known for her portrayals in such films as Blonde and Blonder, Starship Troopers, Wild Things, and The World Is Not Enough, was the former wife of actor Charlie Sheen. On March 2004, she gave birth to their first child. Barely five months later, she did nude pictorials which appeared in a 10-page spread of the Playboy December 2004 issue. Ang Tagalog Illustrated Stories ay ang dating Tagalog Klasiks. Nagbagong mukha ito sa mga unang taon ng ika-21 siglo. Sa unti-unting pagkawala ng babasahing pangmasa na “komiks,” tanging iilan sa mga inilalathala ng Atlas Publications ang nalabi sa sirkulasyon. Sa di mawaring dahilan, ang katawagang “komiks” o “klasiks” ay pinalitan ng “illustrated stories.” Ang Espesyal Komiks ay naging Espesyal Illustrated Stories, ang Hiwaga Komiks ay naging Hiwaga Illustrated Stories, atbp. Tumagal lamang ang mga ito hanggang taong 2006. Sa huling dalawang taon, hindi na nilalagyan ng petsa ang mga inililimbag na “komiks” na taliwas sa nakaugalian. Dito lalong nawalan ng halaga ang mga komiks. Ito ay dahil sa panuntunang (ng mga collectors) na ang nakatatak na petsa, maliban sa nilalaman, ang nagbibigay halaga sa mga babasahing ito sa paglipas ng panahon. Ang Pilipino Komiks naman na naging Pilipino Illustrated Stories, nang lumaon, ay nagkaroon na lamang ng mga “specialized issues” na naglalaman ng mga “illustrated” information tungkol sa mga napapanahong mga bagay o pangyayari.

When Trygvie Lie (1896-1968) resigned as the first officially recognized Secretary-General of the United nations on November10, 1952, the U.N. Security Council recommended Dag Hjalmar Agne Carl Hammarskjold (1905-1961) as his successor. Hammarskjold officially became second U.N. Secretary-General on April 10, 1953. In 1955, he visited the People’s Republic of China at successfully negotiated for the release of 15 American pilots who were captured at the heights of the Korean War. He was reelected in 1957 but was unable to finish his second term. He died when the plane he was on crashed in Northern Rhodesia (Zambia today) on September 18, 1961.

UNANG LABAS

Ang teen-oriented magazine na Sixteen ay unang lumabas noong June 22, 1968. Ang magazine ay halos kasinglaki lamang ng mga ordinaryong komiks at naglalaman din ng mga komiks series kabilang ang mga likha nina Mars Ravelo, Jim Fernandez, Carlo J. Caparas at Orlandro R. Nadres. Nagtampok din ito ng mga featured articles, columns, mga hit songs, at maiinit na balita sa showbiz at tungkol sa mga sikat na personalidad ng naturang panahon. Si Mars Ravelo ang nakaisip ng konsepto ng magazine at si Nadres naman ang naging unang editor nito. Inilimbag ito ng Pilipino Komiks Incorporated na sa simula ay Pilipino ang lengguwaheng ginamit. Makalipas ang ilang buwan, naging “Taglish” na ang medium of presentation nito, at nang lumaon, maliban sa mga illustrated stories na nasusulat pa rin sa wikang Pilipino, naging English na ang lengguwaheng ginamit sa mga artikulo sa magazine. Noong huling bahagi ng 1968, ang Atlas Publications Inc. na ang nagpatuloy ng paglilimbag nito.

Ang spread-out cover ng unang labas ng Sixteen Magazine, June 22, 1968,

na nagtatampok sa American rock band na The Raiders.

Naging popular na babasahin ang Sixteen na sinubaybayan ng mga campus teenagers, lalo na ng mga kababaihan. Subalit ang mga mag-aaral ng high school at college ay yumaon at nagtapos, naging mga professionals at nagkaroon ng pamilya, at dito sumabay sa pagbabago ang Sixteen. Noong March 1974 naging Sixteen MOD Filipina ang pamagat ng magazine. Makalipas ang siyam na buwan, naging kasing-laki ito ng 11”x13” tabloid. Noon namang October 10, 1975, naging MOD Filipina na ang titulo nito at naging exclusive para sa mga kababaihan. Pagtungtong ng 1980s hanggang 1990s, naging bisexual ang tema ng mga artikulong nilalaman nito na bukod sa mga mag-aaral ay mga professionals at class AB readers ang target. Noong July 3, 1992, naging MOD na lamang ang titulo nito, at noong 2004 lumiit sa 9”x12” ang sukat nito. Sumunod ay inililimbag ang MOD sa coupon-bond size.

          Ang unang pelikulang nilabasan ng American-born Polish-Italian actress-singer na si Pia Zadora (tunay na pangalan Pia Alfreda Zadorowski Schipani) noong siya ay 10 taong gulang pa lamang ay ang Santa Claus Conquers the Martians (1964) kung saan siya ay gumanap bilang isang batang Martian na nagngangalang Girmar.

          Noong 1982, lumabas siya sa kontrobersyal na pelikulang Butterfly na umiikot sa temang father-daughter incest. Sa pelikulang ito, kinanta niya ang “It’s Wrong for Me to Love You.” Napagwagian niya ang Golden Globe Award bilang “Best New Star of the Year,” manapa’y sa inpluensiya di-umano ng kaniyang milyonaryong asawang si Meshulam Riklis. Ang nobelang-komiks na “Kurdapya”
tampok sa taklob-pahina ng

          Isang nakatutuwang nobelang-komiks ang “Kurdapya” (1953-1954) na pinagtulungang isulat nina Pablo S. Gomez at Carlos Gonda para sa Tagalog Klasiks. Dalawa rin bantog na ilustrador, sina Nestor Redondo at Afredo Alcala, ang naitokang gumuhit ng kuwentong ito tungkol sa isang tila pangit na batang babae na naging isang magandang binibini, si Kurdapya.

          Ginawa itong pelikula ng Sampaguita Films noong 1955, na nagtampok sa tambalang Gloria Romero (bilang Kurdapya) at Ric Rodrigo. Kasama rin sa pelikula sina Dolphy, Ramon Revilla, Aruray, Eddie Garcia, Rebecca del Rio at Etang Discher.

          According to porn actress Linda Lovelace (real name Linda Susan Boreman, 1949-2002), although she enjoyed the sex with the countless men in her life, the only two men she “made love” were David Winters, which she described in her autobiography The Intimate Diary of Linda Lovelace (1974) as “the man in my life, and Larry Marchiano, her second husband which she had two children.

          Lovelace is well-known in her portrayal in the porno film Deep Throat (1972). It is said that she began the trend of acomoclitism or pubic depilation in porno films, which had been the preference of most porno film enthusiasts since then. The film Deep Throat also showcased her fellatio technique, which is now called “deep throat.”
          The film Deep Throat, which Lovelace starred, on the other hand, is now considered as the “most successful x-rated film of all time.” The film, with a full length of 61 minutes, had a production cost of barely 50,000 dollars. Today, it is estimated that the film already accumulated more than half-a-billion dollars in revenue. Despite this, however, according to Lovelace’s book Ordeal (1980), she was only paid 1,250 dollars for the film and all of it was taken by his live-in manager at the time, Chuck Taylor. Lovelace died in 2002, still unable to benefit from the monumental success of Deep Throat, not even a tiny amount from its profits.

          In the Times Guide to Films list of “100 Landmark Movies of All Time,” Deep Throat was labeled among the classic films like Citizen Kane. The film even became the inspiration for the code name of Rob Woodward’s secret informant in the Watergate Scandal, FBI agent William Mark Felt.
