THE VALUE OF COMICS
Crossovers
Left: DC-Harris Catwoman-Vampirella team-up.
Right: DC-Marvel Batman-Daredevil team-up.
The future value of every comics issue actually depends on 3 factors: 1 – The writer and the artist. 2 – The issue particulars. 3 – The number of published copies.

The first one is self-explanatory; the more famous and popular the writer and artist, the higher the value of their works. Curiously, we can also mention that after the writer or artist dies, his works appreciate in value.

The second concerns the issue number (first issues are valuable when they are ‘stand-alones” – meaning a completed story.), the significance of the issue’s content (origins, first adventures, etc.), and the significance of the issue itself (anniversaries, crossovers, team-ups, movie adaptations, etc.).

The third is the basic tenet of all collectibles. In comics, the lesser the number of published copies (originals), the more valuable it will become in the future.
