Facts and Tips on Birthstones

Mr. & Ms., July 2005
On the cover: Borgy Manotoc and Bianca Gonzalez

After Mr. & Ms. went into a “weird” transformation, only a couple of my articles were published. I said “weird” because it started publishing loads of articles about “weird” things: Occultism, mysticism, paranormals and supernaturals, ghost experiences, demonic encounters, bizarre sex, espousing gay marriages, while showcasing a strictly Catholic dogma. The “Facts and Tips on Birthstones” (pp. 94-95) was among the last of my articles published in the magazine. I stopped contributing sometime in 2006. Besides, it wasn’t the same without its jolly editor Jay Cunanan-Canlas. The magazine closed shop soon afterwards. My guess is that its readers abandoned their patronage of the magazine they love for decades because of the weirdness.
