Picture Trivia
Do you know that when actress-singer Cher (real name Cheryl Sarkisian) was starting her career, she used the celebrity name Cherylyn La Pierre? On the advise, however, of his talent agent, the name was shortened to “Cher,” so that it could easily be remembered. Cher rose to fame as a singer and partner of the singing duo “Bono and Cher.” As an actress, she is not as renowned, although she won an Oscar and a Golden Globe Best Actress Award. This is for her portrayal as Loretta Castorini in the film Moonstruck (1987).
