          Ika-19 ng Setyembre, ginawaran ang 13-anyos na si Cris “Kesz” Valdez ng 2012 International Peace Prize Award sa Hague, Netherlands, dahil sa kaniyang mga gawain na pagtulong sa mga kagaya niyang batang lansangan. Ang 1984 Nobel Peace Prize laureate na si Desmond Mpilo Tutu (South Africa) ang nag-abot ng award kay Valdez. Kalakip ng gawad karangalan, pinagkalooban din si Valdez ng 100,000 Euros (katumbas ng humigit-kumulang 130,000 dollars).

1829 – Joaquin Pardo de Tavera, lawyer, professor and member of Consejo de Administracion de Ayuntamiento de Manila – in Manila (d. March 19, 1884).

1910 – Arturo M. Tolentino, statesman, constitutionalist, lawmaker, Vice-President and “Father of the Philippine Archipelagic Doctrine,” in Manila (d. August 2, 2004).

They won the election but were unable to sit as president and vice-president.
When President Marcos was kidnapped to Hawaii by the Americans during the EDSA-I Revolt,
Senator Tolentino should have replaced him as president being the elected and de jure vice-president,
but his mandate was robbed from him and he was also summarily deposed.
Many political historian speculated that Tolentino
would have been one of the best president of the Philippines had he been given the chance.

          The famed Australian singer Kylie Minogue started out as a child actress in an Australian television soap opera titled Neighbours. As a singer, her first song, “Locomotion,” became the “highest-selling single of the decade.”
          At the conclusion of the Sydney Olympics in 2000, Minogue sang the Abba signature song “Dancing Queen” and her single “On a Night Like This.”

          In 2001, Minogue released her eighth album Fever. It soared to Number One in Australia, United Kingdom and in many countries in Europe. It reached Number 3 in the U.S. Billboard 200. The album’s lead single, “Can’t Get You Out of My Head,” reached Number One in more than 40 countries and sold more than five million copies. It placed seventh in the U.S. Hot 100 chart.

1935 – The Philippine Constitution was signed and ratified.

1948 – The Art Association of the Philippines (AAP), a national organization of painters, sculptors and other visual artists, was established under the leadership of Purita Kalaw-Ledesma.

1969 – Rene Barrientos became the World Junior Lightweight boxing champion after defeating Ruben Navarro of the U.S. in a 15-round fight.

          Theda Bara (real name Theodosia Goodman, 1890-1955) was a renown actress in the silent movie better known by the sobriquet “The Vamp” connotative of a “sexually predatory woman.” Her screen name, according to The Guinness Book of Movie Facts and Feats, was given by film director Frank Powell.
          In the promotion of the film Cleopatra (1917), Fox Studio said that the name Theda Bara is the anagram of “Arab Death.” But this was taken from a misinformation released by Bara’s press agent that she was the daughter of an Arab sheik and s French woman, and was born in the Sahara Desert. In truth, Bara was born in Avondale, Cincinnatina, Ohio. Her father is Bernard Goodman, a Jewish tailor from Poland and her mother is Pauline Louise de Coppett from Switzerland. In 1917, the Goodman family formally changed their surname to Bara.                                      o     O     o
