          Ginger Lynn (Allen) is an American actress who appeared both in porno and mainstream films. Do you know how she started in the porno industry? In 1982, while working as a manager in a Musicland Record Store in Redlands, California, she tried to audition as a figure model that paved the way for a Penthouse magazine layout. That started it all. In just four years, Lynn was able to make 69 porno films excluding the re-issues and compilations that made her a “porn legend” at 24 years old.

          In mainstream film, Lynn is part of the cast of the Vice Academy and Wing Commander film series, and she was in a supporting role in Young Guns II (1990).

          Lynn was the first “Vivid Girl” of Vivid Video, a recognition where her foremost rival was Traci Lords.

          The FBI approached and asked Lynn to testify against Traci Lords who appeared in a porno film while she was still a minor. She refused and subsequently was arrested but the Internal Revenue Service (I.R.S.) for tax evasion. After this, she had a pair of lips tattooed on her right ass cheek. This according to her is so that “the I.R.S. can kiss my ass!”

          The real name of American actress, model and sex symbol Bo Derek is Mary Cathleen Collins. She rose to stardom after portraying the role of Jenny Hanley in the film 10 (1979) directed by Blake Edwards. This was followed by A Change of season (1980) and Tarzan the Ape Man (1981). Bo Derek’s first leading role for which she used the name Kathleen Collins was in the R-rated Fantasies (made in 1973) under the direction of her would-be husband John Derek. She was only 17-year-old. There was difficulty in marketing the film, so it was only in 1981 when it was released in theaters. On the other hand, Bo Derek was first seen in the film Orca (1977).

1947 – The parity Amendment to the 1935 Constitution was approved in a plebiscite. This amendment gave parity or equal rights to Filipinos and Americans in the exploitation of natural resources in the Philippines. With the approval of the amendment, the Bell Trade Act became effective and the Military Bases Agreement was also approved.

          The attempted assassination of US Pres. Ronald Reagan (1911-2004) by John Warnock Hinckley on March 30, 1981, was said to be a case of erotomania, where Hinckley believe that Reagan’s death will make Hollywood actress Jodie Foster publicly declare her love for him. Hinckley’s erotomanic delusion was brought about by his repeated watching of the film Taxi Driver (1976) in which the character Travis Bickle (played by Robert de Niro) planned to assassinate the US president. Foster was in this film portraying a child prostitute.
          Foster won the Academy Award for Best Actress in 1989, for her portrayal of a rape survivor in the film The Accused. In 1991, she played the role of Clarice Starling, an FBI trainee who helped captured the serial killer in The Silence of the Lambs. This gave her international acclaim and the second Academy Award for Best Actress.
          Aside from this, Foster is known as a multi-lingual actress. She is fluent in French and does her own translation into French of the Hollywood films she made. She also speaks German and Italian.
          In 1992, Foster played the role of an unnamed prostitute with Lily Tomlin, Kathy Bates and Anne Lange in the film Shadows and Fog. In that same year she established the production company, Egg Pictures, in Los Angeles, which produced independent films until 2001.
