Events that happened on March 21
1568 – Rajah Tupas of Cebu was baptized in honor of King Philip II of Spain.
1947 – The Joint United States Military Advisory Group (JUSMAG) was created as a result of the military cooperation agreement signed on this day. American advisers were placed in all branches of the Philippine armed forces. JUSMAG played a key role in suppressing the Huk rebellion in the 1950s.
1960 – Rufino J. Santos became the first cardinal of the Catholic church in the Philippines.

          Ang nobelang-komiks na “Jack en Jill” ay isinulat ni Mars Ravelo at iginuhit ni Elpidio Torres sa Pilipino Komiks noong 1953. Ito ay itinuturing na isa sa pinakanakatutuwang serye sa kasaysayan ng komiks sa Pilipinas. Taong 1953 din nang isinapelikula ito ng Sampaguita Pictures sa ilalim ng direksiyon ni Mar S. Torres. Si Lolita Rodriguez ang gumanap na Luisa, si Rogelio dela Rosa bilang Gardo, si Horacio Morelos bilang Mang Ambo, si Etang Discher bilang Donya Teresita, at si Dolphy bilang Gorio.

          Marilyn Monroe (real name Norma Jeane Mortenson, 1926-1962) was married to retired baseball star Joe DiMaggio (1914-1999) on January 14, 1954, but the marriages lasted only for more than a year. They were divorced on October 1954.
