Allow me to quote myself, “Destiny is the product of how we cope with life changes.” I needed that. My Mom died last October 12, 2017, and since then my life seems to have experience a standstill. Up to now, I still have difficulty trying to move on. Reading my own writing provided me a jolt of strength. I pray GOD will provide me guidance and direction.

I usually submit articles about wildlife and environment to different magazines. If they all published it, well and good. It’s a way of disseminating awareness to the public. This one about “The Diminishing Dugong” had already appeared in the August 29, 2017 (Mr. & Ms. Vol. 24 No. 17) post of the same title.

The “Let’s Save Our Planet” section of Mr. & Ms. featured in two succeeding issues (March 18 and March 25, 1997) my article “The Ifugao Rice Terraces: Saving a Wonder of the World.” This is an updated version of an earlier write-up of the same title I wrote for Celebrity World May 8, 1995 issue.

The “Girl Trivia” section of MOD Girl March 25, 2005 issue featured a much abbreviated version of the “In the Bible” article that I submitted. I didn’t like it, because for me nothing in the Bible is trivial. It only included two items: “It is Not Delilah” that cut Samson’s hair, and “The Construction of Noah’s Ark.”

          Do you know that Swedish actress and Hollywood sex cult icon Anita Ekberg (full name Kerstin Anita Marianne Ekberg) joined the Miss Universe Beauty Pageant? Indeed. After winning the Miss Sweden contest, Ekberg went on to compete in the first Miss Universe Beauty Pageant in 1952. She placed sixth in the pageant won by Armi Kuusela of Finland.

1957 – Vice-President Carlos P. Garcia was sworn in as the eighth president of the Philippines succeding Prsident Ramon Magsaysay who died in a plane crash.

1996 – A fire at the Ozone Disco Club in Quezon City, which started shortly after midnight, killed 162 people. It is acknowledged as the worst fire in Philippine history.

        Between the years 1968 and 1969, John Lennon (1940-1980) thought of leaving the The Beatles. He started focusing plans apart from his band. Lennon and his wife, Yoko Ono, made three albums on experimentalmusic: “Unfinished Music No.1: Two Virgins,” “Unfinished Music No. 2: Life with the Lions,” at “Wedding Album.” In was also in 1969 that Lennon and Ono formed The Plastic Ono Band.
          Lennon and Ono were married on March 20, 1969, after which they showcased 14 lithographs they called “Bag One” showing what they did during their honeymoon. Eight of the lithographs were considered “obscene” and were confiscated by the authorities and banned from the public. 

          In protest against Western involvement in the Vietnam War, Lennon released the single “Give Peace a Chance,” which was called “Anti-Vietnam War Anthem.” This was followed by “Cold Turkey,” where he revealed his withdrawal symptoms after being addicted to heroin, and “Instant Karma!”

          Lennon left The Beatles on September 1969 without public knowledge. Paul McCartney, however, went ahead of him when he publicized his own intention to leave the band, and released his debut album on April 1970. In reaction, Lennon said: “I started the band. I disbanded it. It’s as simple as that.”
