John Lennon (1940-1980) on the cover of Time (December 22, 1980), exactly two weeks after he was assassinated by Mark David Chapman on Disyembre 8. It was labeled “when the music died,” which is somewhat a repetition of what happened on February 3, 1959, when rock singer Buddy Holly died in a plane crash, then labeled as “the day the music died” in Don McLean’s song “American Pie” (1971).

The Philippine Crocodile
          The endemic Philippine crocodile (Crocodilus mindoresis) is one of two species of crocodile that can be found in the Philippines. The other is the larger salt-water crocodile (Crocodilus porosus), the species of the one that was captured recently in Mindanao (reputedly the largest in the world).

          Both species are listed together with 17 others species and subspecies are listed in the Appendix I of the Convention on the International Trade of Endangered Species (CITES).
