Originally titled "The swallowing Fever," the article was first published in Celebrity World magazine Vol. 3 No. 140 (April 14, 1994) under the title "Swallowing Weird Things: Gluttony of the Stupid Kind" and, here, in a shorter version, on Moneysaver magazine's "Amazing Stories" section under the title "They Who Swallow Snakes, Coins, Toothbrushes and Other Curious Objects" (pp. 11-12).
