UNCANNY COVERS
UNCANNY COVERS
Uncanny, as in similarity. Time and again different magazines show off certain unique or otherwise peculiar theme or subject of interest on their covers and, soon enough, (an)other magazines did similar, almost identical, design. Whether unknowingly or intentional, it’s a curious and interesting quest to compile them.
Here are a galaxy of them:

Pinoy Playboy (November 30, 1983, Alita San Diego), and 10 Magazine (May 2003, Alma Soriano). |

| MOD Filipina (June 19, 1992, Angel Aquino), and MOD (February 19, 1993, Josephine Velasquez). |

Tik At Tik (August 26, 1983, Carmi Martin), and 10 Magazine (2001, Assunta de Rossi). |

Esquire (November 2011, Rihanna), and Playboy Philippines (April 2012, Wilma Doesn’t). |

Finally, the superheroine thing. Here’s a comparison of two sexy powerhouse: Marvel Comics’ Captain Marvel and DC Comics’ Wonder Woman. If you were to choose, which would you pick?
Hmm..... Me, Captain Marvel of course!

| Entertainment Weekly (September 14, 2018, with Brie Larson as Captain Marvel), and Heroes (February 2019, with Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman). |

GLIMPSES THROUGH THE COVERS
GLIMPSES THROUGH THE COVERS
Pandemic? Three
magazines, Look, Plain Truth, and Time, one is 83-and-a-half years old, another
is around 31 years old, and the other, more recent, just almost 12 years old.
Visionary? Prophetic? Foreboding? No need for elaboration, just “look” and
you’ll understand the “plain truth” for they tell the “time.”

The “Germless Kiss” on the cover of Look (August 3, 1937). |
![]() |
“Where are We in Prophecy” on the cover of Plain Truth (1990). |
![]() |
The Surgical Face Mask “Why You’ll Be Wearing Masks Again” on the cover of Time (May 18, 2009). |
The Bible is the sole source of true prophecy. Once in a while, by an uncanny coincidence, certain hints are brought about by the collective consciousness of humanity: The anxieties, the curiosities, the fear, the thirst for answers, the uncertainties of the signs of the times, converge to give hints of the coming times.

Disasters Warning “The Megaphone” on the cover of Prophecy in the News (November 2017). |

“The Great Reset” on the cover of Tomorrow’s World (January 2021). |
