Ang Buwan ng Nobyembre

          Ang Nobyembre o November ang ikalabing-isang buwan sa uniiral na Gregorian Calendar system. Ito ay halaw sa salitang Latin na novem, na ang ibig sabihin ay “siyam,” sapagkat noong panahon na umiiral ang Roman Calendar, ito ang ikasiyam na buwan.

          Nagsisimula ang buwan ng Nobyembre sa araw ng Undas kung saan tradisyunal na inaalaala ng mga Filipino ang kanilang namayapang kamag-anak at minamahal sa buhay. Nagtatapos naman ito sa isa ring pag-alaala sa kaarawan ng isang magiting na bayani ng bayan, si Gat Andres Bonifacio.

          Ang chrysanthemum ang itinatanging bulaklak ng buwan ng Nobyembre samantalang ang topasyo o topaz ang hiyas ng buwan.

          Noong Nobyembre 1, 1621, ang Real Monasterio de Santa Clara, ang kauna-unahang monasteryo sa Pilipinas ay itinatag sa Manila ng mga madreng Kastila na nabibilang sa Franciscan Order.

          The film Die Hard (1988), which starred Bruce Willis and brought him to the peak of stardom, as of this writing, had four sequels: Die Hard 2 (1990), Die Hard With a Vengeance (1995), Live Free or Die Hard (2007) at A Good Day to Die Hard (2013).
          Do you know that the story about the New York police detective John McClane that Willis portrayed in the original Die Hard was derived from a novel? The title of novel is Nothing Lasts Forever (1979), authored by crime novelist Roderick Thorp (1936-1999). The name of the lead character, John Leland, however, was changed to John McClane. The character was also made younger, and instead of saving his son against the villains, the character was scriptwritten to rescue his wife.
