FIRST ISSUES


FIRST ISSUES

          It’s the first of July, my birth month. I’m itching to post something! I thought, it should be something connected to me. Ah yes! The first of my birth month, so I’m posting the covers of the First Issues of my magazine collections.
          I have already previously posted some of them in this same blog together with my collections of Philippine komiks first issues on the particular day they were released.
          Among those published in the United States and other countries are the following:

 
PEOPLE WEEKLY
          Mia Farrow on the first cover of this American celebrity magazine. Contains human-interest stories, and news and current events about the life of celebrities.
People Weekly (March 4, 1974).
 
MARTIAL ARTS MOVIES
          Jackie Chan, when he was still on the rise to stardom, on the first cover of this Inside Kung-Fu offshoot. Contains interviews, reviews, and insight about different martial arts films.
Martial Art Movies (1979).


SHORT LIST
          Daniel Craig (as James Bond) on the first cover of this weekly men’s magazine. Contains articles of just about everything from cars to news, to lifestyle catering for men.
Short List (September 20, 2007).

 
COMPLETE SURVIVALIST (Survive without fear)
          Featured on the first cover of this pro-intuitive magazine is a Swiss knife stabbed on the desert sand. Contains, as its editor puts it, the “broadest range of information on survival, preparedness, and self reliance” in a “rapidly changing and increasingly dangerous world” facing the threats of natural and man-made disasters.

KASANOVA (That’s with a “K”)
          Model-actress Bridgetta Tomarchio on the first cover of the “exotic edition” of this men’s magazine. Contains sexy pictures, and articles and insights about sex, dating, cars, gadgets, travel, etc.

SECRET SOCIETIES
          Portrait of American president George Washington on the cover of this US News publication. Contains many interesting information and insights on the title subject – secret societies.

AEON (No Flux?)
          Anne Ilonzeh, the first African-American Charlie’s Angel, on the first cover of this magazine of men’s “empowerment.” Contains, aside from erotic pictures, an array of articles that provide “sexy, savvy, style solutions” to men’s attainment of wealth, power and respect.

MILITARY SURPLUS
          The Russian M91/30, the German K98k, and the U.S. M1 Garand, featured on the premier issue’s cover of the magazine. Contains an “arsenal” of articles about guns and weaponry relics.
