The Most Significant Events in the World (1974-2004)

MOD 30th Anniversary Special, October 2004
On the cover: Tingting Cojuangco and daughters Mikee and China

As usual, I get to write the broadest and no-nonsense anniversary feature story, “The WORLD,” that is the most “significant events (in the world) in the last 30 MOD years.”

And I am also featured as one of the contributors, “writers who have made MOD the country’s number one weekly magazine.”

The Diminishing Dugong (Mr. & Ms. August 29, 2000)

Mr. & Ms. Vol. 24 No. 17, August 29, 2000
On the cover: Robin Eric Menk and Mickey Ferriols

The dugong (scientifically known as Dugong dugon), locally known as baboy-dagat, is a very rare sea creature, perhaps the only remaining living species of its family.

Mr. & Ms. Vol. 19 No. 18, August 29, 1995
On the cover: Robin Da Rosa and Mikee Cojuangco
Inset: Kevin Costner

I’ve written and sent this article, about the “good” effect of Mt. Pinatubo’s ash to the ozone layer, to different magazines. At least two of them published it. SEE March 20, 2017 post.

Let's Save Our Planet: The Shrinking Wood Supply

Mr. & Ms. Vol. 22 No. 10, June 30, 1998
On the cover: Dodot Jaworski and Mikee Cojuangco

A timely article in 1998, “The Shrinking Wood Supply” (pp. 46-47), the write-up is still very much significant 19 years after.

“If a tree is cut down, there is hope that it will grow again and will send new branches. Even if its roots grow old in the ground, and its stump dies in the dirt, at the smell of water it will bud and put out new shoots like a plant.” – Job 14:7-9, The Everyday Bible, New Century Version.
