This article, “Pardise Lost: Environmental Crisis,” was written 26 years ago, but the lingering questions remained blunt and relevant. Mindanao, the once called “Promised Land,” now perennially flooded whenever it rains. This is because its once bountiful forests are almost denuded. Similar situation can be seen throughout the country.

          Do you know that American singer, actress and animal activist, Doris Day (real name Doris Mary Ann Kappelhoff), is one of the most extraordinary showbiz celebrity of the 20th century?
